— ABOUT IFMRS —

The International Federation of Musculoskeletal Research Societies (IFMRS) is a global, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to promote excellence in the field of musculoskeletal science, in order to improve the prevention and treatment of all musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions worldwide.

We bring together major musculoskeletal research societies from across the world working across the spectrum of MSK conditions, from rare diseases to osteoarthritis, and the full spectrum of MSK research, from basic to clinical. We are a broad-based but lean and flexible organisation, with member organisations spanning the globe: https://www.ifmrs.org/membership.

Our 3-year Strategic Plan commits us to broadening and strengthening our global network; developing new ways to support our early career researchers across the world; and raising the profile of MSK and MSK research at the international level with bodies such as the WHO. We provide a range of resources for our community, including the Musculoskeletal Knowledge Portal (www.mskkp.org), the HubLE Learning Environment for young investigators (www.huble.org), and the Virtual Library (www.ifmrs.org/virtual-library), and enable collaborative working and dialogue across the entire musculoskeletal field.

Digital communications are central to everything we do. Given our levels of resourcing and capacity, most of our comms, particularly the newsletter and social media, are doing very well, with current capacity levels.

— ABOUT THE ROLE —

The Content Curator is a new role which will be responsible for ensuring that the IFMRS is regularly generating and sharing relevant, high-quality, engaging content for a wide range of audiences across all of our digital communications channels.

As a global alliance, we aim to provide a space for MSK researchers and organizations to share knowledge, network and collaborate. Our Communications Plan for 2025 places an emphasis on creating more proactive, engaging and tailored content for key audiences, optimising existing comms channels and exploring new ones.

The Content Curator will identify and regularly share the content that is worth sharing on our channels in a compelling and engaging way, thereby strengthening the knowledge-sharing aspect of our operations and increasing value to our members and stakeholders.

The Content Curator will be pivotal in strengthening our connection with younger members, underscoring our appreciation for their insights and contributions. At the same time, they will curate engaging content that resonates with our more senior audience. They will lead on curating the content for the new page on www.ifmrs.org which will provide a new “home” for most of our current HubLE content, and help optimize our online presence and social media communications.

You will be working closely with the CEO and the Digital Comms Officer as part of a small, fully remote team.

The role would suit a senior PhD student or recent PhD graduate in the MSK or related field, with experience of and an interest in digital comms, and ideally, video editing.
