The 2022 Herbert Fleisch Workshop in Bruges, Belgium, will be held on 20-22 November, led by experts in the field of musculoskeletal research.

The Herbert Fleisch Workshop is back!

Having had to postpone our plans for a face-to-face workshop last year due to the pandemic, we are delighted to be welcoming people back to an in-person meeting in Bruges, Belgium, from 20-22 November this year!

The Herbert Fleisch Workshop is a 3-day residential workshop designed to bring together international investigators and young and mid-career scientists working in musculoskeletal research for a few days of learning, discussion and networking, with the hands-on participation of some of the top scientists in this field, all of whom will be present for the duration of the event.

This year, we’re delighted to welcome as our senior participants :

  • Prof Duncan Bassett (Imperial College London), who will be presenting on genetics and large-scale omics technologies in bone research
  • Prof Georg Schett (Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg), who will be presenting on cellular pathogenesis and inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis
  • Prof Ernestina Schipani (University of Pennsylvania), who will be presenting on hypoxia signalling and cell metabolism in the skeleton
  • Prof Eileen Shore (University of Pennsylvania), who will be presenting on lessons from rare genetic diseases
  • Prof Clifford Rosen (Maine Medical Center), who will be presenting on irisin and the cross-talk between muscle and bone
  • Prof Anna Teti (University of L’Aquila), who will be presenting on bone pathology/malignancy and therapy research

All attendees are invited to submit abstracts for both oral and poster presentations at the meeting. Those selected for oral presentations must bring a poster about their work as well, to ensure ample discussion and feedback opportunities throughout the meeting.

Registration for this unique event will be opening soon, and will be announced via our newsletter mailing list, which you can register to receive for free.

The Herbert Fleisch Workshop is designed to bring together excellent international investigators and young and mid-career scientists working in bone and cartilage research, for vigorous data discussion and networking.
