Herbert Fleisch Workshop
The 2022 Herbert Fleisch Workshop in Brugge, Belgium, will be held on 20-22 November, led by experts in the field of musculoskeletal research.
The Herbert Fleisch Workshop is a 3-day residential workshop designed to bring together international investigators and young and mid-career scientists working in musculoskeletal research for a few days of learning, discussion and networking, with the hands-on participation of some of the top scientists in this field, all of whom will be present for the duration of the event.

abstract Submission
DEADLINE – 31st July 2022.
All attendees are invited, though not required, to submit abstracts for both oral and poster presentations at the meeting. Those selected for oral presentations must bring a poster about their work as well, to ensure ample discussion and feedback opportunities throughout the meeting. Submitting an abstract also entitles attendees to register for a reduced fee.
- The abstract title is limited to 250 characters (including spaces) and the abstract text is limited to 400 words.
- Please enter at least 1 and up to 3 keywords in the dedicated field.
- Awards will be handed out to selected young investigators based on the submitted/presented work. Therefore, we ask you to indicate the career stage of the presenting author. (Checkboxes)
- Submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed and scored; based on the evaluations, the Scientific Committee will decide on the presentation type (oral/poster). However, you have the option to indicate if a poster presentation is your preference. (Checkbox).

It features 101 comfortable rooms, a bar and restaurant, a garden and terrace, plus room for meetings including 8 separate and 1 large multifunctional room. We have negotiated competitive hotel rates (€97-€107/night, single-double room) for the workshop participants.
Attendees are strongly encouraged to stay in the congress hotel to facilitate their participation in the meeting and maximize the networking opportunities. All the scientific sessions as well as coffee breaks and joint lunches take place in the hotel.

Travelling from abroad to Belgium Travelling to Belgium is allowed.
On arrival, NO proof of vaccination, recovery or test needs to be presented. There is no obligation of testing or quarantine. A Passenger Locator Form is no longer required.
The Corona measures on travel to Belgium were lifted on 23 May 2022, except for travellers from very high risk countries.

Train Information
The easiest way to get from the airport to Brugge is by train. The railway station in the airport is very conveniently located in the basement, and the hotel is not far from the train station in Brugge. There are direct trains, as well as some that require one change in one of the Brussels train stations. A standard ticket one-way is € 20,60.
Please follow the direction of TRAIN connections (lower floor). You must buy your train ticket(s) before boarding the train (expected cost for one adult 40-50 € for a standard round-trip ticket in second class.
Weekend train travel schedules are more limited than those offered on the weekday. Your options are:
- Option ONE:. 26 minutes past the hour at the airport: take train to Brussels Midi (takes 20 minutes)- change train and take train for Brugge/Blankenberge at 51 min past the hour (duration: 1 h)
- Option TWO: 31 min past the hour at the airport: take train to Brussels midi (takes 20min- change station and take train to Brugge/Oostende leaving at 4 min past the hour (duration 1h)
- Option THREE: 57 min past the hour at the airport: take train to GENT (duration 50 minutes) then change train 10 minutes past the hour direction Brugge/Oostende (duration 24 minutes
PLEASE DO NOT take the “direct train from airport to Brugge at 13 minutes past the hour because that is a train with many stops and it takes 2h 41 min to arrive in Brugge.
