Addressing musculoskeletal conditions: an opportunity for health systems globally

The webinars by the WHO on “Rehabilitation: Addressing Musculoskeletal Conditions, An Opportunity for Health Systems” present a significant learning opportunity. They address the critical role of rehabilitation in health systems, particularly with respect to the growing challenge of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, which are the greatest cause of a growing burden of disability worldwide.

The WHO has identified MSK conditions as the greatest area of need for improving population health through rehabilitation, in order to help to keep more people mobile, pain-free and economically and socially active and reduce the economic impact on society of MSK-related work loss.

The webinars highlight how a concerted approach to tackling the impact of MSK conditions through rehabilitation can not only improve patient outcomes but also enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of health systems globally.
